Oscars Friday #5-The Big Short

It takes a complicated topic(the financial crisis of 2007-08) and tries to  present it in layman’s terms. The cast has Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, Steve Carell and Ryan Gosling so obviously I had a lot of expectation in terms of acting and it was surely not a let down. Though the financial jargon can become mind boggling sometimes, but don’t stop there. Even if you are nowhere related to finance(like me), you will not regret watching this movie. And those of you who are related to finance, you should have already watched it by now!!

Oscars Verdict- Wolf of Wall Street bagged 5 nominations in 2013 but did not win any of them. This year The Big Short is also nominated for 5 categories. I don’t know about the others but I’m pretty sure, this movie isn’t getting the Best Picture

IMDb-“Four denizens of the world of high-finance predict the credit and housing bubble collapse of the mid-2000s, and decide to take on the big banks for their greed and lack of foresight.”
