Oscars Friday #1- Spotlight

Spotlight is a journalism drama that tackles a sensitive topic of child sex abuse cases. It is based on true stories. The movie doesn’t glorify any of the sides. It remains controlled and focused throughout, thus keeping the viewer engaged. The movie is unbiased in presenting the facts. It keeps you hooked up all the way to the end.

Oscars verdict- In my opinion, Spotlight has a better chance to win the Best Picture than all the others nominated in the category. It has social significance, a great cast and one of the best screenplay I have seen in the whole year.

IMDb-“The true story of how the Boston Globe uncovered the massive scandal of child molestation and cover-up within the local Catholic Archdiocese, shaking the entire Catholic Church to its core.”
