Battle Royale

Japan has one of the oldest and largest cinema industry in the world. I don’t have a lot of experience with Japanese movies when compared to Hollywood. But so far, I feel that Japanese are better in implementing concepts. Hollywood has failed again and again in bringing great concepts to the screen(especially novel based movies). Battle Royale is a pretty good example of adapting a novel into a film.

The concept of Battle Royale is simple yet strong. Only one of the 42 students can survive the game(Battle Royale) and make it out alive. The movie pushes human morality to its extremes. It tests the limits of human values-love, friendship, revenge and many more. The movie is wickedly violent. You never know what’s gonna happen next. This keeps the viewers on the edge of their seats.

A must watch movie !!

IMDb-“In the future, the Japanese government captures a class of ninth-grade students and forces them to kill each other under the revolutionary “Battle Royale” act.”
