Captain America – Civil War

I was afraid. What if this turned out to be another Dawn of Justice? Fortunately, it didn’t.

Having said that, I didn’t find Dawn of Justice that bad. It’s just that it didn’t meet the expectation of the fans and the hype created by it’s trailers(which didn’t leave any good action scenes for the movie) and it’s plot was a little dumb. As a standalone action movie, it was okayish.

Coming now to Civil War, the basic plot is the same as that of Dawn of Justice. The bad guy succeeds in manipulating good guys into fighting each other. But, there is a difference in the outcomes. I don’t want to spoil your movie so I’ll stop right there.

The plot doesn’t have too much to offer except a revelation which brings a twist in the story. But what this movie loses out on plot, it makes it up in good humor, great action sequences and a whole lot of superheroes. One of the primary reasons why Dawn of Justice failed was that it didn’t have much to compensate for the plot.

Unlike Dawn of Justice, what makes the conflict work is not just the ideology of the characters but also their character development from previous movies like The Winter Soldier and The Avengers. So when our heroes start punching each other, it feels real.

For me, this was one of the best Marvel movies ever!! It also featured the best Stan Lee cameo ever.

P.S. Do wait for the after credits scene

IMDb-“Political interference in the Avengers’ activities causes a rift between former allies Captain America and Iron Man.”
