A perfect way to tell a story!!
The movie was able to articulate all the essential emotions…….nothing was overdone…..the drama was there but not too much…..just the right amount of everything. It is based on a true story so that doesn’t leave much room for enhancements in the story. The direction was good, so was the screenplay. It is never too easy to adapt a book into a movie….many have tried and failed…..but not this one 🙂
This movie will surely bring tears to your eyes, be it in happy or sad moments. The movie remains towards the grim side of the spectrum. It surely isn’t a light movie but not too intense either. The movie is captivating and leaves you with a bittersweet feeling at the end (at least in my case it did).
This movie is made for everyone and you should give it a try. Since it is also nominated for Oscars, it gives you all the more reason to go ahead and watch it.
IMDb-“A five-year-old Indian boy gets lost on the streets of Calcutta, thousands of kilometers from home. He survives many challenges before being adopted by a couple in Australia; 25 years later, he sets out to find his lost family.”
